AJ’s true passion is creating and assembling projects. Growing up, AJ spent every possible minute working on construction sites. Instead of summer camp and trips to the beach, AJ was sawing lumber and hammering nails learning a valuable trade from many skilled “old-school” carpenters.
This opportunity developed into a passion for film study. From a very young age, his dream was to work in the film industry and play some small role in the creative process of making movies. In 1996, AJ got his first opportunity working on the production “Southie.” He then moved to New York in 1997, where he accepted a position at Martha Stewart Living TV, working his way up the ladder to Line Producer, winning 3 Emmy Awards during his 8 years with Martha. Returning to Boston in 2006, AJ began working on movie productions in Massachusetts, where his childhood career goal came true with a behind-the-scenes job on a Martin Scorsese picture “Shutter Island” in 2007. AJ is also especially proud of his work on the film productions, “The Fighter,” and “Social Network.”
In 2012, AJ began building his first business, Above the Line Production Rentals a truck, trailer, and temp-solution equipment rental business, the only business of its kind, north of New York City.
In 2018 AJ started eFetch Express, a concierge delivery solution for temporary worksites utilizing smart locker technology. Being a dedicated advocate for Massachusetts’ film and television industry, the first location serviced the film crews at New England Studios in Devens, Massachusetts.
Rick has had a deep and diverse experience in a few industries including music, retail clothing, food service, and education. Starting from the ground up, Rick came to understand the layers of each; customer service, time and resource management, working with diverse populations, training employees, and the hiring and management of people, striving to create an atmosphere where everyone felt valued and empowered. After 30+ years of these combined practices, starting his own business is the next logical step in Rick’s career path.
AJ and Rick met in 2018 and were both looking for a new venture. After much discussion, they conceived, Perk & Parcel. The concept was built off the eFetch model but taken to a broader audience, provided secure and discreet delivery and storage of purchases using the latest in connected locker technology.
